July 27, 2015 - 101st anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). My R.G. Manabat & Co. (KPMG in the Philippines) batchmates in the audit group decided to go out to lunch to celebrate God's 101 years of blessings to the Church.
We looked for a good restaurant in Ayala Triangle Walkways in Makati. We decided to try Chef Lau's Pugon Roasters, a restaurant that serves firebrick oven-roasted traditional Pinoy dishes like roast chicken, pork liempo, beef, and other great stuff at a very affordable price made special by one of the best chefs in the country.
Chef Lau worked in many local fine dining restaurants as well as restaurants in France, Australia and New York. He was one of the judges and hosts in the highly popular and successful "Master Chef” international T.V. franchise cooking show series here in the Philippines.
Kier, Alexa and Jessica tried Pugon Roast Chicken (P99/P119), signature 1/4 chicken. Bel and I ordered Smokey Chicken BBQ (P99/P119), while Vico and Hya tried Sizzling Chicken Sisig (P99/P119).

Other value-for-money chicken specialties are Chef Lau's Crispy Chicken Croquettas (P89/P109), a 5-piece big crunchy, cheesy chicken chunks; aand crispy fried 1/4 chicken in rich adobo sauce (P99/P119).
Dishes roasted in charcoal fire brick oven are Baked Bangus Belly (P139/P159), Pork Binagoongan Roast (P159/P179), and Sizzling Angus Roast Beef (P189/P209).
Have a sisig fest with Pork Liempo (P129/P149) and Pork Liempo (P149/P169).
For merienda, you may try Sinampalukang Chicken Sopas (P25), Pancit Lukban (P79/P99), and Kaldereta Mac (P89/P109).
Desserts are being offered at an affordable price - Halo Halo Sundae (P89), Maja Blanca (P55) and Carabao's Milk Ice Cream (cone - P39/sundae - P59).
Other branches are Venice Piazza, McKinley Hill Taguig and SM SUN Residences, Welcome Rotonda, Quezon City.
The restaurant is open Mondays to Saturdays at 7AM - 11PM and Sundays at 7AM - 10PM.
