WHERE IN BAGUIO: Looking for good food at good price? Good Taste Cafe and Restaurant is for you

When we went to the printing press to edit the second issue for our 2012 edition, the owner Mr. Danny treated us. He asked his assistant to bring us to Good Taste Cafe and Restaurant.

That was my first time to go to that dining spot. It is always full. Baguio City is a top tourist destination in the Philippines because of its cool and temperate weather. Aside from Baguio's endless tourist spots and attractions, it is also a foodies' haven.

Good Taste is a spacious 24-hour restaurant serving mostly Filipino-Chinese dishes in traditional Baguio-style. If you're looking for a restaurant in Baguio with good food, big servings and at an affordable price, this place is for you. This is one of the busiest restaurants in the Philippines. Good Taste is perfect for a family occasion but not for romantic date with a quiet setting.

It has two branches - one near Dangwa Bus Terminal and the other one, near Burnham Park, at the corner of Carino Street and Otek Street.

Let's take a look at their menu.

For Rice Toppings menu, they have Good Taste Fried Rice (P100), Good Taste Rice (P80), Fried Rice with Vegetables (P65), Fried Rice with Egg (P65) and other rice toppings (P75) - Beef Pechay Rice, Beef Chopsuey Rice, Lechon Ampalaya Rice, Chicken Curry Rice, Beef Curry Rice and Lechon Rice. Their rice toppings are not the ordinary dishes that you order in a popular fast-food chain in the Philippines. You'll be shocked with the plating and its big serving.

Why not try their best-selling Garlic Buttered Chicken or the ordinary Buttered Chicken (P145 half, P290 whole) or Fried Chicken (P125 half, P250 whole), Steamed Chicken (P125 half, P250 whole), Pata Tim (P295). You may also try other Family Style dishes like Crispy Pata (P260), Sweet and Sour Chicken (P160), Sweet and Sour Pork (P145), Beef Steak (P145), Mixed Pulutan (P135), Fried Liver (P135), Fried Bituka (P135), Pinakbet (P120), Sweet and Sour Tilapia (P115), Ginataang Hito (P130) and Adobong Hito (P130).

For merienda, they offer pancit (P110 to P125), mami (P70) and Chicken, Beef and Wanton Mami (P75).

For breakfast, you may order, 2-piece Toast with Butter (P8), One Loaf Heated Bread (P45), cake (P17) - pineapple, caramel, streamline and custard. They have also Siopao (P35), eggpie (P17), and 4-piece Siomai Pork (P38).
