The Galaxy Alpha is more than just smart inside. It’s the first Samsung Galaxy smartphone with a high-quality metal frame and luxury look and feel.
A posh, metal framed, 4.7-inch phone, Galaxy Alpha launches in early September, available in charcoal black, dazzling white, frosted gold, sleek silver, and scuba blue. An exact date and pricing was not revealed.
With an almost iPhone-like design, the Alpha stands at less than 7mm thick—one of the slimmest Galaxy devices ever.
The new handset sports a 1,280-by-720-pixel display, a 12-megapixel rear camera and 2.1-megapixel front shooter. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and includes features like ultra power-saving mode, S Health, fingerprint scanner, private mode, and connectivity with Samsung's wearables.
It also comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB port, and NFC capability. And while the phone boasts 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, there is no micro SD slot for expandable space.
