WHERE IN METRO MANILA: Fresh dough, better ingredients, better pizza at "Papa John's"

When we went to SM Megamall, we can't decide where and what to eat. I decided to browse the net and search for the best pizza place. So glad I found this place.

Papa John’s is the third largest pizza company in the world. Its first outlet was in Indiana, back in 1985.

Papa John's Pizza is now in the Philippines. Thanks to Malaysian conglomerate Berjaya Group. Berjaya owns 30 percent of Berjaya pizza (Philippines), whose main business is the operation of the Papa John’s pizza franchise.

A better pizza begins from the bottom up. That's why the dough used for their hand-tossed, original crust is prepared with the finest ingredients, like high-protein flour and clear-filtered water. Grown in the rich fertile valleys of California by the best growers, the vine-ripened tomatoes used to make their all-natural sauce are picked during the three-month season when they're the most ripe and packed within an average of six short hours. Their beef and sausage are made with 100% beef and pork, blended with special seasonings for distinctive flavor. The signature mozzarella cheese is exclusive to Papa John's and crafted from 100% mozzarella and high-quality milk by one of America's finest cheese producers.

Let's take a look at their menu:

Their specialty pizzas are Super Papa (a combination of tasty pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and black olive), All the Meats (a combination of tasty pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef bits, ham and bacon) and John's Favorite (a combination of pepperoni, sausage and a blend of six delicious cheeses). The regular size (9") costs P340, family size (12") at P470 and party size (14") at P575. They are also offering Spicy Italian Meatballs, Texas Heat, Chicken BBQ and Chicken Bacon Ranch at P275 for regular size, P415 for family size and P485 for party size.

You must also try Tuscan Six Cheese, Meatball Pepperoni, Shrimp and Garlic and Spicy Italian Pepperoni. All of these must-try pizzas are priced at P275 for regular, P415 for family and P485 for party size.

If you want ordinary pizzas with a twist, classic pizzas are for you: Simply Cheese (P250, P390, P460), Garden Special (P255, P385, P465), Pepperoni and The Hawaiian (P265, P395, P475).

Can't decide what flavors to get? Get the best of both worlds, order the half and half. This is applicable for party size original and thin crust.

Can't get enough of your favorite pizza? ? Increase your pizza pleasure by adding more of your favorite pizza toppings.

Because "People Are Priority Always" (PAPA), they gave us four free side items when we ordered two pizzas and seven pastas. We chose breadsticks, herbed Parmesan breadsticks, cheesesticks and seasoned potato wedges. You may also order battered onion rings (P129), baked Italian meatballs (P140), chicken poppers (P175 for 9 pieces and P269 for 15 pieces), calzone (P175), chicken drumettes and wingettes (P229 for 6 pieces and P269 for 8 pieces).

You must also try their pastas and soups: Three Cheese (P99), Crab Meat (P99), Hot Salad (P99), Carbonara (P180), Diablo Burst (P189), Meatball Bolognaise (P200), Mediterranean Seafood Linguini (P220) and Shrimp Oriental Pasta (P220). Enjoy a Jr Papa's Pizza or Pasta plus Coke at P170 and Cream of Mushroom or Chicken and Corn at P49.

There is a group meal for a sure win, the Mythical 5 at P999. It includes any one party size pizza, one seasoned potato wedges, three orders of pasta and five regular sodas. A meal for 12 at P2,499 is the ultimate pizza feast for hunger champs. It includes any two family size pizza, six orders of pasta, 16 pieces of chicken drumettes and wingettes and 12 regular sodas.

Papa John's Pizza is one of the best pizza places in the Philippines with better ingredients.
