Filipino-Spanish Alexandra Masangkay Escalona joins Spain's version of 'Glee'

Filipino-Spanish Alexandra Masangkay Escalona is among cast members of the musical TV series "Dreamland," a Spanish version of the hit American TV series "Glee."

Escalona plays as one of the selected students to enter Dreamland, a prestigious school where students develop their talents in singing, dancing and acting.
 
 
The show aired its pilot on Spanish TV network Cuatro on March 24.

The 22-year-old Escalona, a native of Barcelona, but whose parents hail  from Mabini, Batangas, was last seen as an auditionee in Spain's version of American Idol, "Operación Triunfo."
 
After the musical reality show, Alexandra got a recording contract from Blusens Music and had her first single “Are you fast enough?” released last year.
 
 
She has since joined the Spanish girl band 5 Dreams, which has already released a debut single, “Baby.”
