G.V. Florida made news online after a bus company was seen using G.V. Florida's terminal in Earnshaw Street in
Sampaloc, Manila, leading to speculations that the company only
repainted its buses and changed its name.
A sign bearing the name Transport Pro Services Inc. was seen posted in
G.V. Florida's terminal in Manila. The bus company has also started
offering trips from Manila to Ilocos.
But according to a report from dzMM correspondent Zhander Cayabyab, Transport Pro is a legitimate and
registered bus operator that has been in operation for years. It also
has its own franchise.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chief
Winston Ginez said that the company wrote a letter to his office, asking permission
to use G.V. Florida's terminal while it is still suspended.
He added though that they "will investigate the speculations that G.V. Florida is operating under a new name."
Due to various violations, the G.V. Florida line is suspended until September 19, 2014.
G.V. Florida did not file a motion for reconsideration to appeal the
6-month suspension it received following the deadly accident in Bontoc
last February.
