Vice Ganda on Wednesday, March 12, finally broke his silence amid reports that he allegedly paid for his Best Actor trophy from the PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
“Nung nabasa ko natawa lang ako, tapos tumahimik ako. Sabi ko ‘Kung kakausapin ko ang konsensya ko, ano kayang sasabihin ng konsensya ko sa akin?’ Sabi ng konsensya ko sa akin, ‘Kung nandaya ka, ibalik mo ang award. Kung hindi ka nandaya, yakapin mo ang award.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa PMPC Star Awards for my first acting trophy. Maraming salamat po sa Best Actor na binigay niyo sa akin…. Maraming salamat po sa PMPC at sa lahat ng nagtitiwala sa akin. Para po sa inyo ito.”
On Tuesday, the PMPC already denied allegations that the recent Star Awards for Movies was rigged.
Entertainment reporter Jobert Sucaldito, in his post dated March 10, said he had expected "Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill" star ER Ejercito to bag the Best Actor trophy, as he (Sucaldito) had "commissioned" 22 of the PMPC's voting members to ensure his public relations client's win.

The radio personality alleged it is "normal" to lobby for potential winners, and that he pushed for Ejercito's win knowing that the supposed "rightful winner," Joel Torre of "On the Job," didn't have backers for his Best Actor bid.
According to Sucaldito, he was surprised with the announcement that Vice Ganda won Best Actor since the voting members he allegedly spoke with had supposedly committed to him that they would vote for Ejercito.
The PMPC, which is composed of the entertainment press, said it strongly refutes this allegation.
"The voting members gave their utmost trust and confidence to the winners in their respective categories, thereby making the results final, uncontestable, and sacred. For the past three decades of Star Awards for Movies, the PMPC has weathered the hardest obstacles and has remained undaunted.
"There will be forces that will try to destroy the credibility and reputation of the club, but the PMPC will remain committed to its objectives, and no amount of intimidation and coercion can shake its foundation... The PMPC, it's Board of Directors and Members will always stand firm on their decision."
