ABS-CBN is bringing back the hit Taiwanese drama "Meteor Garden" as the network celebrates its 10th anniversary of airing Asian series.
Meteor Garden is a 2001 Taiwanese TV adaptation of the hit Japanese shōjo manga series, Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango), written by Yoko Kamio. The said drama starred Barbie Hsu, Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Chu and Vanness Wu.
The Kapamilya network, which first aired "Meteor Garden" in 2003, uploaded a teaser trailer on the video-sharing site YouTube on Wednesday.
In the Philippines, "Meteor Garden" has been credited for starting the so-called "Asianovela craze," with ratings that usually reached over 50%.
The series centers around a poor girl Shan Chai (Hsu), who at the insistence of her parents goes to a university for the rich. There, she meets Dao Ming Si (Yan), Hua Ze Lei (Zhou), Mei Zuo (Wu) and Xi Men (Chu), who are heirs to influential families in Taiwan.
Meteor Garden returns to ABS-CBN this March 31 airing after It's Showtime. There will also be a primetime telecast on Jeepney TV at 8:00 pm.
