Piolo Pascual, Iza Calzado to star in 'Hawak Kamay'

Actress Iza Calzado and ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual will reunite in an upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye.

Pascual was last seen in Apoy sa Dagat, with Angelica Panganiban and Diether Ocampo, while Calzado’s last television series was Kahit Puso’y Masugatan with Andi Eigenmann, Gabby Concepcion and Jake Cuenca.

The two stars had their look test for the upcoming show and will be joined in by singer-actress Nikki Gil.

According to reports, Pascual was the one who requested to be paired with Calzado in this upcoming series, which is said to be directed by Ruel Bayani.

Calzado was supposed to be part of Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, Bea Alonzo’s upcoming teleserye, but was taken out of the cast because her contract stipulates that she should be the lead star of a teleseryes she will be doing.

Calzado has already worked with Pascual twice in movies, first in the highly-acclaimed Milan, and second on the mega blockbuster hit Starting Over Again, both helmed by award-winning director Olivia Lamasan.

Pascual and Calzado are paired in this project together with child stars Zaijan Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat, Kesha and Andrea Brillantes.

Directed by Mae Cruz, Pascual plays the role of a frustrated musician who fights for the adoption of the four children of his deceased sibling. Calzado plays the role of a lawyer.
