10. Anchors under fire

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) sent a notice to the management of "Unang Hirit" informing them of a November 11 meeting to tackle the "alarming language and scenes" in its November 5 telecast.   In that episode, anchor Arnold Clavio spoke with Atty. Alfredo Villamor on the phone regarding businesswoman Janet Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the controversial P10-billion pork barrel scam.  Clavio, who repeatedly clarified which of Napoles' cases Villamor is handling, was tagged as "rude" and "impatient" by viewers of the program on social media.

Talks were swirling over the weekend that Korina Sanchez was suspended for a week on her daily newscast TV Patrol. All of these stemmed from Korina’s criticism of CNN journalist Anderson Cooper about his on-air report that there’s “no government presence” in Tacloban City, Leyte and other Yolanda-hit areas. She lambasted Cooper over the report saying, he “doesn’t know where he speaks of.”

Just a few days after Korina Sanchez drew the ire of netizens over on-air criticism of CNN’s Anderson Cooper, another top ABS-CBN news anchor is being castigated for a comment on his morning radio show where he apparently ridiculed PAGASA about its knowledge of storm surges. In his commentary, Ted Failon used his signature parody in dealing with the issue on air in his popular morning radio program on dzMM. With canned laughter in the background, Failon talked trash about PAGASA’s ability in responding to storm surges. Illustrating this, he mentioned PAGASA even failed to save the life of its own employee when the storm surge leveled its station on the Tacloban coast.

9. Engagement and Marriage

Even while showbiz reels from high-profile breakups, 2013 remains a good year to fall in love. Take it from these couples who tied the knot this year: Richard Poon and Maricar Reyes, Freddie Aguilar and Jovi Gatdula, Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, Paolo Valenciano and Samantha Godinez, Matt Evans and Katrina Fariñas, Anna Larrucea and Robbie Pangilinan, Shamcey Supsup and Lloyd Lee, and Sir Chief and Maya.

Not to be outdone, these lovebirds also announced their engagement: Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones, Geneva Cruz and Lee Paulsen, Miriam Quiambao and Ardy Roberto Jr., Denise Laurel and Sol Mercado.

8. Pregnancy and Delivery

Amy Perez, Iwa Moto and Nicole Hyala have given birth this year. Meanwhile, Jolina Magdangal, Rica Peralejo, Melai Cantiveros and Geneva Cruz have announced that they are soon-to-be-moms a couple of months from now.

7. Anne Curtis causes scene at a bar

Anne Curtis was reported to have caused a scene at a bar in Taguig in November, slapping fellow Kapamilya star John Lloyd Cruz and two others.  Curtis was also said to have pointed a finger at model-host Phoemela Barranda as she screamed: "I can buy you, your friends and this club!" Barranda has since clarified that Curtis never made such a statement.  The actress eventually apologized on Twitter for her actions.

6. Celebrity Break-ups
Early this year, actress Sunshine Cruz announced that she has decided to live apart from her husband, actor Cesar Montano, after he was romantically linked to starlet Krista Miller
Billy Crawford surprised the public last July when he confirmed his breakup with Nikki Gil, his girlfriend of four-and-a-half years.
Inday Barretto confirmed last May that her daughter, actress Claudine Barretto, is no longer living with her husband, actor Raymart Santiago.

Less than a month after they got married, comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas confirmed her split with Jed Salang, claiming that she was physically abused by her husband.

Actress Angel Locsin confirmed last October that she and Azkals player Phil Younghusband have called it quits. Luis Manzano and Jennylyn Mercado also end their relationship.

They were set to marry sometime next year, but Tiya Pusit and her boyfriend of over a year, 27-year-old Nathan Villa, have reportedly broken up.

5. Charice comes out as lesbian

Charice has confirmed wide speculations that she’s a lesbian. The admission came two weeks following her 21st birthday and several unaddressed issues after. Among the issues then was her eloping with then-alleged girlfriend Alyssa Quijano and her filing blotter against her own mother, Racquel Pempengco.

4. “Age doesn’t matter” relationships

Singer Freddie Aguilar snatched the limelight last October when he admitted being in romantic relationship with a 16-year-old girl.

PBB Celebrity housemate and comedienne Keanna Reeves admitted being in relationship  with the 19-year-old lad identified as Kevin Mercado who is younger than Reeves’ eldest child.

3. Barretto family feud goes on

The Barretto sisters are still publicly trading barbs against each other—on Instagram and elsewhere. The 2013 showbiz is pretty much defined by the unending saga starring Claudine, Gretchen and their other siblings (plus their parents Inday and Miguel, of course).

2. Sex videos and photo scandal online

Showbiz has yet again rocked by twin sex video scandals—care of couples Chito Miranda-Neri Naig and Wally Bayola-EB Babe Yosh whose private intimate videos went public.

The online world just got a new nude photo scandal putting GMA-7′s top-prized actress Marian Rivera on spotlight.

Rayver Cruz and Cristine Reyes are being tagged in a supposed "sex scandal" in a text blast that has reached friends and family of the former couple.

Enchong Dee and Sebastian Castro allegedly made a video scandal together.

An alleged photo saw Gerald Anderson peeing on the side of trail looking away from the camera but his private parts exposed. A photo scandal showing a shirtless Albie Casiño in briefs with a raging boner is making rounds online. Kapamilya superstar Sarah Geronimo's alleged photo scandal goes viral on popular social networking sites. The alleged photo scandal of Angel Locsin, which is actually of Lingerie model Emma Glover got shares on social networks last September. Nude photos of the recently crowned Super Sireyna Queen of Queens of Eat Bulaga went viral online right after winning the said pageant.

Ahron Villena is the latest victim of these fake nude photos. The alleged photo saw Villena posing and showing his cock.

1. Jessica Soho, netizens didn’t laugh on Vice Ganda’s ‘rape’ joke

This year’s unfunniest joke was care of Vice Ganda. After making GMA News big boss Jessica Soho subject of his “rape” joke in his May 17 concert, the Kapamilya comedian received a barrage of criticisms on social media—ignited by anchor Arnold Clavio and some GMA news reporters.
