The Nation's Address to the Leaders of the Philippines



Nagpapasalamat ako sa paglilinaw ng ating Pangulong Benigno Aquino III  sa usaping pork barrel at DAP na naging sentro ng pampublikong diskurso. Ngunit tila ang pambansang pahayag na ito ay nag-iwan ng mas maraming katanungan kaysa kasagutan.


Hindi naging malinaw sa bawat Pilipino kung sino ang tinutukoy ng ating Pangulo sa kaniyang pahayag dahil sa paggamit niya ng mga salitang SILA, KANILA, NILA. Walang pangalang binitiwan.

Ang usaping ito ay hindi tungkol sa partido at partido. Hindi ito usaping administrasyon sa administrasyon. Ito ay usaping panlipunan. Ito ay isyu ng bawat lider, ng bawat mamamayan.

Ang taumbayan ngayon ay nasa estado ng kabalintunaan. Sino nga ba ang totoong magnanakaw?

Tama ang ginagawa ngayon ng kasalukuyang administrasyon na balikan ang mga taong nagnakaw sa sariling bayan. Ngunit hindi tama na sa harap ng maraming tao ay puro pasaring ang sinasambit.

Ang nais ko lamang bilang isang Pinoy ay isang solusyon - hindi pasaring, hindi puro salita.

Kung talagang mamamayang Pilipino ang BOSS ng mga pulitikong ito, dapat ay pakinggan ang daing. Ang nais namin ay magkaroon ng hustisya. 

Itigil na ang sisihan. Managot ang dapat managot. Anumang pagkukulang at kasalanan ng nakaraan ay nasa desisyon na iyon ng kasalukuyan. Kung may pinaghihinalaang pagkakasala, imbestigahan. At kung mapatunayang may sala, ikulong. Siguraduhing maayos ang sistema ng ang ating hudikatura.

Wala dapat sabihin ang mga pulitiko kung talagang wala silang ginagawang kasamaan. Hindi nila kailangang ipagtanggol ang kanilang sarili kung naniniwalang silang naging tapat sila sa kanilang tungkulin.


Ito ay panahon ng pagbabago. Ngayon lamang muling bumalik ang boses ng sambayanang Pilipino. Nagkakaisa ang tinig upang ibalik demokrasya sa ating bansa. Korupsyon ang sumisira sa ating lipunan. Korupsyon ang sumisira sa ating pagkakaisa. Korupsyon ang sumisira sa ating kalayaan.

Iisa ang daing ng bawat mamamayan. Nawa'y maging tapat sa sinumpaang tungkulin ang mga iniluklok upang kumatawan sa milyun-milyong Pilipino nagnanais ng magandang bukas. Hindi ito ang ninais ng bawat mamamayan sa mga nagdaang taon, nagdaang halalan. Nagtiwala sila sa tapat na panunungkulan.

Nauunawaan naming mahirap umupo at magtrabaho sa Kongreso. Nauunawaan naming mahirap magpasa ng batas para sa kabutihan ng nakararami. Nauunawaan naming mahirap ihiwalay ang iyong sarili sa isang sandali sa iyong pamilya alang-alang sa bansa. Nawa ay kami naman ang maunawaan. Nais din namin ng hustisya. 

Katuwang ng pamahalaan ang sambayanang Pilipino upang maitaguyod ang mapayapang Pilipinas kung magiging tapat ang mga pinunong iniluklok sa kani-kanilang pwesto. Ang pagiging lider ay hindi negosyo. Ang pagiging lider ay isang serbisyo publiko. Ang pagiging lider ay isang responsibilidad. Ang responsibilidad na iyon ay maging tapat sa nasasakupan, may mata mang nagmamatyag o wala.

He has been involved in different advocacy and defending human rights. He was a Lussoc National High School 'The Sring' and 'Ang Batis' news editor. A radical visionary leader, he has led organizations of the Supreme Student Government, Science Club, Youth for Environment in Schools Organization, Interact Club, Math Club, Philippine National Red Cross and other organizations in their institution. He was also awarded as a distinguished student leader as a former officer of the Supreme Student Government and received President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Campus Journalism Award. He attended two National Leadership Training for the Student Government Officers, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Youth for Environment Summer Camp, Science Leaders Congress and Schools Press Conference. Joined and won in the several contests from their school to the national level.

He is an organist and an officer of the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo).

Paul is a BS Accountancy student at the Northwestern University. He works for CBAA Biznews and  The Blog of Innocence: SilentVoice Points. He is the College Editors Guild of the Philippines-Ilocos Chairperson. CEGP is the oldest and broadest intercollegiate alliance of student publications in the Asia-Pacific.
