Philippine Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014

Philippine Fashion Week S/S 2014 saved the best for last. The season’s run of the country’s fashion Olympiad took on a nostalgic finale with a tribute to one of the pillars of Philippine fashion – Ben Farrales.

From the classic, the romantic, to the contemporary, evening formal takes on new forms and styles in this year’s Philippine Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2014 Grand Allure Collection.

Dusky, smoky with a splash of bright colors – these are the tones that set the Spring/Summer collections of a dozen designers showcased in Philippine Fashion Week.

Day four opened with a collection from Anthony Ramirez entitled “Sous La Lune”. Literally translated “Under the Moon”, the collection celebrates those hot summer night outs.   Anthony Ramirez tamed a bit of his signature sexy style by showing off the shoulders and the back.  Done in neoprene fabric, these pieces cling to every lovely cure. He ended with the vavavoom Ruffa Mae Quinto walking down the runway with a see through gown which he describes as the perfect blend of the designer and the client.

Beautifully detailed creations characterize the Spring/Summer 2014 collection – an ensemble that can be worn with ease and comfort yet maintaining its high fashion appeal.

Giordano made a successful debut at Philippine Fashion Week in front of a packed Mall of Asia Main Atrium. Giordano’s Spring Summer 2014 collection offered seaside glamour and earthy appeal while staying true to its signature clean and casual vibe.

Top retail brand Penshoppe showcased its Spring/ Summer 2014 collection that captures its classic fun, youthful appeal while staying in-sync with what’s hot.

The cool, casual and laidback collection includes Penshoppe’s signature colored jeans, biker jackets, and cozy, lightweight pullovers.

The country’s leading men’s apparel brand celebrates the holidays with bold shades of green, red and other rich jewel tones, giving the usual knits and blazers a more festive appeal.

Highlighting the show was the much-anticipated runway appearance of top male supermodel David Gandy as the new face of SM Men’s Fashion. Known as the highest paid male model in the world, David’s partnership with SM Men’s Fashion is a testament to the brand’s global thrust.

Kapamilya star Maja Salvador headlined the first-ever appearance of the local apparel brand Petit Monde at the Philippine Fashion Week.

Salvador, who has been endorsing Petit Monde since 2011, hit the runway on Wednesday (October 23), wearing items from the brand's newest collection.

She was accompanied by the rest of Petit Monde's celebrity endorsers -- Sunshine Cruz, Cheska Garcia and Ana Roces -- all of them looking stunning in dainty pieces.

Meanwhile, SM Shoes and Bags also took part at the Philippine Fashion Week on Wednesday, showcasing items worn by models and celebrity endorsers.

Luis Manzano, for one, walked down the runway wearing Salvatore Mann.
