ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID: Kwentoserye 1 and 2 | Judy Ann Santos, Kim Chiu, Xian Lim

Trials in life are tests to one's true character. Sometimes, when our burden becomes cumbersome, we reach our breaking point. But a positive outlook in life and a strong faith in God, will always give us hope. These will make us carry on, forge forward and face the future with a braver front. When Ms Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo met with the survivor-advocates of the Women's Crisis Center, she wanted to pay tribute to them, not just for standing up against violence but also for being an inspiration and source of strength to those who are still fighting their own battle against abuse.

Judy Ann recently portrayed the role of Anessa Panaligan, a battered wifein the teleserye 'HuwagKa Lang Mawawala'. This gave her a deeper and better understanding of the psychology of abuse, turning her into a staunch advocate of women empowerment.

This Christmas season, Judy Ann chose to bring joy and hope to the survivors of violence against women. For this reason, she organized a surprise get-together for the members of the Women's Crisis Center (WCC).The survivor advocates were made to believe that they will be interviewed as case studies for the Christmas Station ID, without an inkling that Judy Ann is just outside the interview area, waiting to surprise them. Juday's presence was truly delighting and heartwarming for them. After exchanging pleasantries, Judy Ann invited them to share a meal with her. This became an impromptu sharing of experiences between women who share and understand each other's sentiments. After the meaningful conversations, Juday introduced her KravMaga instructor to share with the survivor advocates some basic moves on self-defense. Before parting ways, Juday distributed some tokens as remembrance of their meeting.

In this lifetime, you will meet people who would inspire you and make you feel grateful for the blessings you have received. Their stories will reside in you and before you knew it, your life has changed. Such is the case for Nanay Baby Cerdena and Kim Chiu. From the time they met in an I Dare You episode two years ago in which Kim stayed in Nanay Baby's house, they have formed an invisible mother-daughter bond that defies distance and time.

Nanay Baby is a wife of a fisherman and a mother to nine children. She's a resident of Isla Pulo, a small island in Tanza, Navotas, where getting in and out of the area would require a banca ride or crossing a kilometric bamboo bridge on stilts. To make a living, they gather wood washed up to their shore and turn these to charcoal. Two days of drying and burning wood would churn out a sack or two, fetching 150 pesos per sack. On rainy days, plastic thrash pile up in their shore. They collect these and sell to junk shops for 10 pesos per kilo. On lean days, she disclosed that they "borrow" food from their neighbors, who are always kindhearted to spare their extra for them.

With the general SID theme of bringing good cheer to inspiring individuals, it was Kim's own choice to visit Nanay Baby and her family. From the initial interviews, you would already grasp how special Kim is to them. Her already-faded photo is one of the only two photos enshrined in their family altar. Nanay Baby's children would refer to Kim as Ate. She also talks about her with so much love and fondness. She has endless stories about Kim and how she even went back to Isla Pulo to celebrate her birthday there, and made everyone happy.

“Mga Kwento ng Pasko” is part of ABS-CBN’s much-awaited Christmas station ID this year, which will be launched on Nov 6. This is the first time that the network produced webisodes for its annual SID.
