Ariella Arida in 'truth and dare' game; speaks up on Marian Rivera's ex

The Philippines’ Ariella Arida gamely acted like a chicken for a web-exclusive series put up by organizers of this year’s Miss Universe pageant.

All the Miss Universe 2013 contestants were made to participate in the classic “Truth and Dare” game, where they each answered a question and did something that was out of the box.

In Arida’s case, it was to “act like a chicken across the room.”

For the game’s “truth” portion, the 24-year-old Laguna lass was asked the question: “What do you miss most about being a kid?”

“So what I miss the most about being a kid is being fearless, young and carefree. Because when we were young, when I was a kid, I don’t have to carry any problems in my life. I just have to look for food when I am hungry, or ask for playmates when I am bored. So that is what I miss the most when I was a kid.”

Arida, thanked her suitor, actor Ervic Vijarde, for coming to her defense regarding her supposedly "offensive" statement against Latinas in pageants.

During a press conference held Tuesday for the launch of sports broadcaster Dyan Castillejo's new fitness website, Arida, in a phone interview, spoke about her ties with Vijarde.

The 24-year-old Alaminos-born beauty became linked to Vijarde, who was formerly in an eight-year relationship with actress Marian Rivera until 2009, after he admitted in an interview that he is courting Arida.

Referring to Vijarde's own word war with Mo Twister following the DJ's tirade against Arida, the beauty queen said, "Thankful ako dahil parang 'yung issue...

Referring to Vijarde's aborted plans of flying to Moscow to watch her in the finals, Arida added, "At least napi-feel ko naman po 'yung support, 'yon po ang mas importante."

Robin Padilla, BB Gandanghari to make movie on gay rights

Siblings Robin Padilla and BB Gandanghari will soon reunite on the big screen as they are set to headline a movie that will tackle the issue of gay rights.

Mali yata,” he recalled.

Padilla said he then told his brother about his plan and they both agreed that the film would center on gay rights.

Para sa akin, ang morality natin ngayon ay equality,” he said.

Asked what his role would be, the action star said: “Unang una, producer ako.

Gandanghari, on the other hand, will be playing the role of a fighter.

Disiplina iyon, conquering your fear,” Padilla said.

Padilla also proudly shared that his renewed ties with his brother is something he treasures.

ABS-CBN launches O Shopping Channel

PRESS RELEASE FROM ABS-CBN
Filipinos won’t have to leave their homes to shop for highly reliable, reasonably priced, and world-class household products by tuning in to ABS-CBN’s newly launched television shopping programs that give them a rich and informative retail experience.

O Shopping Channel has started broadcasting 24/7 shopping programs via SkyCable and Global Destiny on Channel 11, as well as programs through ABS-CBN’s Channel 2 and Studio 23 last October 15.

Viewers have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of products trusted by customers worldwide, from kitchenware to home, exercise, and beauty products at reasonable prices.

“The nature of our products is designed for working women and moms at home. We will have products for men, the household in general, and at some point, even products that cater to children. As we roll out more products, we will cater to the entire family,” said Paolo Pineda, head of ABS-CBN Business Development.

O Shopping’s innovative and entertaining TV shopping programs also empower consumers by providing comprehensive information about the products, which include a home power laundry rack, a stovetop oven, a double pan, a 3D rolling hair styler, a roller slide, a handblender, among others.

Teleshoppers can pay cash on delivery or on mobile POS debit card and credit card (MasterCard and Visa).

Pineda said that O Shopping will also eventually offer cosmetic products, and other merchandise that will be demanded by its customers.

“Eventually we will serve what the market will demand. We will find a way to get feedback and comments from people who buy our products, as long as there is interest and a sizeable market,” he said.

O Shopping will also serve as an additional distribution platform for the licensed products under ABS-CBN brands, he added.

“We have a complete line of ‘Juan Dela Cruz’ merchandise available, Kris Aquino-branded products, and UAAP merchandise. This is just to complement the existing retail channels that are working with us today,” said Pineda.

O Shopping is a joint venture between ABS-CBN and CJ O Shopping Corporation, one of the largest home shopping companies in the world that also has presence in Shanghai, Tianjin, and Guangzhou in China, as well as in India, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and Turkey.

O Shopping has signed CJ Korea Express, the CJ Group’s logistics arm, to deliver products in Metro Manila, and shipping and logistics company 2Go for deliveries outside Metro Manila.

Hosted by Victor Anastacio, Charlotte Barredo, Cara Eriguel, Hiyasmin Neri, Lara Sayo, and Virginia Pozon, O Shopping’s programs air around the clock daily on SkyCable and Destiny Channel 11, and airs programs on Studio 23, at 1-2AM and 5-6AM from Mondays to Fridays and at 1-2AM on Saturdays and Sundays, and on ABS-CBN Channel 2 after “Banana Nite” from Mondays to Fridays, after “Sports Unlimited” on Saturdays, and after “Sunday’s Best” on Sundays.

The Nation's Address to the Leaders of the Philippines

Are the top celebrity endorsers also top income taxpayers?

BY PAUL MICHAEL CAMANIA JARAMILLO

Are the 24 biggest celebrity endorsers among the country's top individual taxpayers?

Six of the country's top celebrity endorsers are not top income taxpayers in 2012, the Department of Finance (DOF) and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said.

The six celebrities who weren't in the BIR's list are Carmina Villaroel, Zoren Legaspi, Marian Rivera, Ryan Agoncillo, Jericho Rosales and Ai-Ai delas Alas.

The list of top celebrity endorsers was released by YES Magazine in 2011, based on the celebrity’s number of endorsements.

Topping the list was Aquino, who also was the country’s highest taxpayer in 2011. She paid P49.87 million in income taxes in 2011.

John Lloyd Cruz, the second biggest endorser, was the 205th top taxpayer in 2011 (P5.4 million) and the 8th in 2012 (P42.79 million).

Sharon Cuneta, the top 3 celebrity endorser, also posted a big jump in the taxpayers list. She was 191st in the 2011 list (P5.74 million), and 9th in the 2012 list (P42 million).

Jessy Mendiola is Korea's honorary ambassador for tourism

BY PAUL MICHAEL CAMANIA JARAMILLO

"Maria Mercedes" star Jessy Mendiola has been tapped by South Korea to be its honorary ambassador for tourism, a position earlier held by the likes of K-pop superstars Psy and Jay Park.

The 20-year-old actress left for the country on Tuesday night to attend her ceremonial appointment to the position, which will be conferred on her by the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO).

Mendiola, according to an ABS-CBN statement released Wednesday, will immediately attend to her duties as ambassador. This includes a five-day trip to famous tourist destinations in South Korea, and a meeting with KTO chairman Charm Lee.

As an honorary KTO ambassador, Mendiola will take active part in promoting Korea's tourism to the Philippines.

Late last year, Mendiola gained popularity in Korea after she appeared in the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) program "Word Date with Shinee," which featured eight ladies from different countries in a meet-and-greet with the popular K-pop boy group.

According to Mendiola, she started getting recognized in Korea after her stint in the show. At the time, the Kapamilya actress said she is open to do more projects there.

FULL TEXT AND PRESENTATION: President's Address to the Nation 2013

BY PAUL MICHAEL CAMANIA JARAMILLO

FULL TEXT

Pambansang Pahayag
ng
Kagalang-galang Benigno S. Aquino III

Sa talumpati, sinipi niya si Archibald MacLeish: “How shall freedom be defended? By truth when it is attacked by lies.”

At habang nandiyan kayo, patuloy akong maninindigan.

Fake photo of Ahron Villena showing his dick surfaces online

BY PAUL MICHAEL CAMANIA JARAMILLO

An alleged photo saw Gerald Anderson (SEE PHOTO HERE) peeing on the side of trail looking away from the camera but his private parts exposed goes viral last July.

The alleged photo scandal of Angel Locsin (SEE PHOTO HERE), which is actually of Lingerie model Emma Glover got shares on social networks last September. Also, that month, new photo scandal allegedly involving Marian Rivera (SEE PHOTO HERE) became the new biggest talk online.

This month, October, Kapamilya superstar Sarah Geronimo's alleged photo scandal (SEE PHOTO HERE) went viral on popular social networking sites and a photo scandal showing a shirtless Albie Casiño in briefs with a raging boner (SEE PHOTO HERE) also made rounds online.

Ahron Villena is the latest victim of these fake nude photos. The alleged photo saw Villena posing and showing his cock.

Looking at the said photo, it is obviously fake and not him. The photo is edited. Below is the real one.

However, we are sure that these photos of Villena below are not edited.

Other sites also posted photos of Rocco Nacino, Sam Concepcion, Derek Ramsay, Mike Tan, Daniel Matsunaga and Gerald Anderson showing their penis. Again, these are fake. We urge social media users to stop spreading this kind of photos.

Derek Ramsey dating Cristalle Henares?

BY PAUL MICHAEL CAMANIA JARAMILLO

Cristalle Henares, the daughter of celebrity doctor Vicki Belo, made it clear that there is nothing going on between her and actor Derek Ramsay.

Ramsay recently confirmed his breakup with Kapamilya star Cristine Reyes, with their relationship lasting for only a month.

"The good thing is noong time na nali-link kami ay single siya, at saka ngayon ay single ulit siya. So para sa amin, okay, wala talagang apektado so okay lang. But of course, when he's in a relationship, that's when I'll mind na parang sasabihin ko sa tao na huwag na talaga. Kasi we have to respect the relationship he has. Pero now, pinagtatawanan lang namin.

"Right now, Derek and I are super, super friends. Nothing more than that, definitely. Just for the record, walang nangyayari sa amin ni Derek, we are very close and, you know, we have a lot of fun together."

How did I become a CPA?

I did not become a CPA overnight or even in just a year. It’s more than that.

It’s been several days since I saw my name etched on that roll of successful examinees. I tell you it is a mixture of overwhelming joy and heart-pinching sadness. Well not everyone who takes that dreadful exam makes it through, a hurtful reality.

How did I become a Certified Public Accountant? It’s simple and I just realized it after I passed which is but appropriate. Commit, Pray, Achieve. That’s it!

Believe it or not, Accountancy was my first choice even though I know not anything about the course. I held onto the dream that I someday I will become an accountant and I committed myself to it. During my college years I gave everything that I could. I read & solve in advance, I review until dawn (when I’m in the mood and not sleepyJ) and equally important I roam around with my friends. Reading the chapter once to me was not enough to internalize the concepts. Yes, internalize and I am glad I had done it before because those mnemonics I mastered are still in my mind. Mistakes are also good teachers because they remind you where you went wrong so you may get it right this time. Relying on pure luck especially in the board examination is risky. Do what you have to do. After all you make your own luck.

Your attitude towards what you are heading is what keeps you on tract. If you do not love Accounting, I mean by heart, try. I say try because it’s worth it. IT IS WORTH IT.

I did not become a CPA alone. I have God with me all throughout the journey. I constantly asked guidance and good health especially during the review and He never failed me. I took all the exams as if He was right beside me, as if it is the two of us answering the same questions, as if the exam was for me and for Him. I really did and my faith in Him was stronger than ever. God helps and He knows what is best for us. A belief that a God exists makes you human but having faith in the Lord Almighty makes you more. Prayer ALWAYS works and it is effective.

Envisioning yourself with the title will make you more motivated. It is synonymous to passing the board exam and claiming the title. Then you begin to imagine your loved ones rejoicing because of your feat. Then you will have no time to entertain failure. What will remain are the urge and the hope to achieve what you have dreamt of, to make those who believe in you happy and proud.

Those who have been through this journey may agree what I have shared. It is a different feeling when you become a CPA as what they say and I am still on my way to proving it. For now, I am thankful to God for everything that I have. I once did Commit, Pray & Achieve now I can put them together as a 3-letter word forever attached to my name.
