Kobe Bryant now in Manila

National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar Kobe Bryant arrived in Manila early Monday morning for a one-day Lenovo Mobile promotional tour.

Bryant arrived on board a chartered flight from Beijing, China at around 3:40 a.m.

Lenovo Mobile posted on photo-sharing site Instagram a picture of Bryant with the caption “Are you ready for Kobe Byrant, Manila? The Black Mamba has landed! #walangiwanan #lenovomobileph”

The 34-year-old athlete will first visit a Lenovo store at the Mall of Asia before proceeding to Maxims Hotel in Resorts World Manila for a press conference.

Bryant was picked up by executives from Lenovo Philippines and whisked off in a van.

The media was not allowed to cover Bryant's arrival.

Bryant was originally scheduled to attend an event at SM Mall of Asia Arena at 10:30 a.m. Monday, but it was moved to 6 p.m.

The Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard was met by John Rojo, business unit head of Open Communications, the exclusive distributor of Lenovo Mobile and organizer of the "Walang Iwanan World Tour."

Bryant last visited the Philippines in 2011 for a Nike event and exhibition games with fellow NBA players. It is his sixth visit to the country.
