Nokia launches 41MP Lumia 1020 smartphone

Nokia has unveiled a new smartphone with a 41-megapixel camera in its latest bid to catch up with rivals Apple and Samsung after years of poor sales.

The 1020 has a suite of photography options meant to complement its oversized sensor. Chief among these is the Nokia Pro Cam mode, which allows users to make changes to the camera's white balance, ISO, and exposure. In order to ensure that users can share photos easily, the device takes two versions of any particular shot: one in the 41MP resolution and another in 5MP resolution.

Its technical specs include a 4.5inch 1280x768 AMOLED 332 PPI Puremotion HD screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 1080p HD video recording, 2GB RAM, and a 32GB internal memory.

The Lumia 1020's camera also comes with up to 6x digital zoom that can capture 'more details than other smartphone cameras.'
