Piolo, Gerald movie 'On the Job' gets picked up for U.S. release

The crime thriller “On the Job,” starring Kapamilya stars Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson, will be shown in North America, after it was picked up by Well Go USA in Cannes, France.

Well Go USA announced that it has acquired all North American rights to “On the Job,” a co-production of Reality Entertainment and Star Cinema.

The company plans to release the Filipino in the U.S. in the fall.

Director Erik Matti described as “a record breaker” the deal scored by his latest film “On the Job” with Well Go USA.

Interviewed by the Inquirer in Cannes shortly after the contract was announced, Dondon Monteverde, Matti’s coproducer in Reality Entertainment, said the French and North American distribution deal fetched roughly US$350,000, for a total of at least P12 million.

"On The Job" stars Pascual as a National Bureau of Investigation agent hunting down a hitman on the run played by Anderson. The Kapamilya actors are joined in the film by Rayver Cruz, Shaina Magdayao, Empress Schuck, Joel Torre, Angel Aquino, Vivian Velez, Joey Marquez, Leo Martinez, Michael de Mesa, Al Tantay and Niño Muhlach.
