Animal Ka: Former Ilocos Sur vice governor cussing re-electionist candidate caught on video

'awan hayop' uploaded a 5-minute video of former vice governor of Ilocos Sur, Jeremias “Jerry” C. Singson, cussing former mayor of San Ilefonso town, Christian "Basi" Purisima.

Re-electionists Singson and Purisima are running under United Nationalist Party's local party Bileg led by gubernatorial candidate Ryan Luis Singson, son of incumbent Ilocos Sur governor Luis "Chavit" Singson.

After Purisima gave his speech during an event in Pugos, Sinait Friday, May 10, Singson said, "Diyak magustuwan ti panagsarita ni apo Basi, apo. Ibagak la kanyayon." (I tell you, I don't like the way Mr. Basi talks.)

"You should be professional, anak," Singson added.

Also in the video, an audience said, "Sausauen na daytoy?" (What is he talking about?)

Singson is accusing Purisima for allegedly discrediting the candidates.

However, Purisima did not issue any following statements.

In the last part of the video, Singson ended his speech saying, "Animal ka."

Harsh accusations from both sides signaled a sharp escalation of high tensions between the two allies. People leave the place while Singson is speaking.

Both candidates received the endorsement from the local leaders of the influential Iglesia Ni Cristo on Sunday, May 12.
