Siena College student killed in cement mixer crash

A student of Siena College of Quezon City died in a vehicular accident along Araneta Avenue Tuesday morning.

Marie Cherry Inzon, a resident of Tandang Sora in Quezon City, died after she was pinned under a cement mixer which fell on a passenger jeepney.

At least 7 people were reported injured. Five of them were rushed to East Avenue Medical Center while the two others were brought to Philippine Orthopedic Center.

The mixer's driver, identified as Reynald Guarte, was arrested following the accident.

Traffic investigators have yet to determine how the accident occurred, but witnesses said the mixer (ZPl 947), owned by Concrete Mix Specialist Inc., was speeding when it hit the jeepney that was unloading passengers near an excavation site.

The accident caused massive traffic in the area after cement spilled out on the road. – ABS-CBN News
