Willie Revillame admits watching Eat Bulaga, Showtime, ASAP

Willie Revillame promised that “walang patutsadahan” will take place between him and other noontime show hosts.

The TV5 host made this promise yesterday, January 23, during the presscon of Wowowillie held at the Wil’s Events Place, Quezon City.

On Saturday, January 26, Wowowillie will be aired for the first time on TV5’s noontime block.

Willie’s former show, Wil Time Bigtime, previously aired on the primetime block of the Kapatid Network.

This will pit Wowowillie against ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime and GMA-7’s Eat Bulaga!.

When asked regarding the rivalry between his show and other noontime programs, Willie made this declaration:

“Ito, walang tapatan, we are just an extension.

"We are just a show na kasama ng Eat Bulaga! na nagbibigay ng saya at tulong tuwing tanghali.

"Walang kumpitensiya dito. Wala kayong maririnig sa amin na patutsadahan.

“Maganda ang ginagawa ng Eat Bulaga! for, I think, the past 36 years. Sila ang naging inspirasyon sa akin.”

As soon as he learned that TV5 wants to shift his show to the noontime block, Willie’s first question was to ask: "Alam ba ni Vic [Sotto] at Joey [de Leon]?

"Kasi siyempre, kasama ko sila sa TV5."

Vic is the host of the TV5 game show The Million Peso Money Drop, while Joey is one of the hosts of the TV5 Sunday noontime game show Game 'N Go All Stars.

Willie said that TV5 executives told him, "Kami na'ng bahala kina Vic at Joey."

JOEY DE LEON. In 2007, Willie and Eat Bulaga! host Joey de Leon had a word war stemming from the alleged cheating on Willie's former ABS-CBN noontime show, Wowowee.

Willie personally called Joey to inform him that his show, Wowowillie, will be competing directly with Eat Bulaga!.

Willie recalls telling Joey on the phone two weeks ago, "Pare, just to tell you, magnu-noontime na ako.

"E, I just want to give respect to the Eat Bulaga! family and, eto na naman, magkakatapat tayo.'

In a separate interview with Willie, the TV5 host said that he is open to the possibility of doing a movie with Joey in the future.

IMITATION. Willie also admitted that he himself watches Eat Bulaga! and other programs in order to get ideas for his new show.

“Nanonood ako ng mga shows. I watch Eat Bulaga!, nanonood ako ng mga ibang programa. Kasi magandang show talaga.

You watch all the shows.

In Wowowillie, viewers can look forward to seeing Willie’s co-hosts such as Grace Lee, Camille Villar, dancer Lovely Abella, and Mariel Rodriguez.

Ethel Booba is now included as one of the hosts as well as Arci Muñoz and Ava Jugueta of PYT (Pretty Young Thing).

According to Jay Montelibano, they have plans of making the new hosts go to different parts of the Philippines for one segment of the show.

RENEWING HIS CONTRACT WITH TV5? During the general presscon, Willie admitted that he is already considering resting from hosting a TV show.

But he still wants to continue hosting in order to provide jobs for his staff and to help the masses whom he sees frequently around the Delta Theater in Quezon City.

He revealed: "My contract is until October [2013]. I only have nine months to go.

"Pero pinakiusap nila ako kung puwede i-extend for three to five years. Nagne-negotiate ako with TV5 kung ie-extend o hindi."

He also made a promise to his staff: "Around 30 houses ibibigay ko sa staff ko.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had the chance to ask Willie in a separate interview regarding the factors that would make him renew his contract with TV5.

He pointed out: “Nag-uusap pa kami.

When you talk about financial, part ng deal ‘yan.
Ray C. Espinosa [TV5 president and CEO].

Willie signed a contract with TV5 from 2010 to 2013.

Is he asking for any condition before signing another contract with the Kapatid Network?

He quickly answered, “Wala.

STILL HELPING JAN-JAN. Willie previously got into hot water in 2011 because of the so-called “Jan-Jan macho dancing incident.”

The March 12 episode of Willing Willie featured a six-year-old boy who was crying while gyrating like a macho dancer on the show.

During the program, Willie gave P10,000 to Jan-Jan in return for this macho dancing.

Viewers reacted very strongly to Willie’s actions and sparked criticisms ranging from "poor taste" to "child abuse."

Does he still talk to Jan-Jan about the incident?

“Ayoko naman i-recall sa kanya yung nangyari. It’s more positive na lang.
