Nikki Gil hosts segment on CNN travel show

Kapamilya singer and actress Nikki Gil served as one of the segment hosts for a special episode on Manila for the travel show “CNNGo,” which aired on CNN cable channel on Wednesday. 
“CNNgo feature on Manila came out today! I went to my dad's hometown, Angono, Rizal, which is dubbed the art capital of the Philippines,” Gil said on her official Twitter account late on Wednesday.

She also posted a screen grab of her CNN stint on her Instagram account.

According to the cable network CNN which airs the travel show, “CNNGo” is a monthly 30-minute show featuring “a unique take on global destinations, bringing views from genuine insiders on what gives dynamic cities in Asia and beyond their distinctive buzz.”

In the episode, Gil went to Angono, where she visited one of the town’s most famous art destinations, the Blanco Family Museum, and also sampled the exotic delicacies at Balaw-Balaw restaurant.

Apart from Gil, actor Ping Medina also worked on the Manila episode. Medina showed off the hipster scene at Cubao X and also tried the dishes at the offbeat Van Gogh is Bipolar restaurant in Quezon City.

Medina also promoted the episode via his Twitter account.

For her segment, magazine publisher Cheryl Tiu, who is also a contributor to the CNNGo website, took the crew for breakfast at the highly rated Antonio’s in Tagaytay and toured the picturesque Taal Volcano on horseback.

Chef and author Claude Tayag, meanwhile, showed off the food treats at Makati’s Salcedo weekend market and the famous Farmer’s Market in Cubao.

The "CNNGo" episode on the Philippines will be replayed on Oct. 13 at 12:30 p.m.; Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 11, at 12:30 p.m. on CNN.
