Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Depression "KAREN"

The Active Low Pressure Area (ALPA) East of Mindanao has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "KAREN".
Location of Center:
(as of 10:00 a.m.)
700 km East of Tandag, Surigao Del Sur
Coordinates: 9.0°N, 133.4°E
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center
Movement: Northwest at 7 kph
Forecast Positions/Outlook: Wednesday morning 600 km East of Siargao Island
Thursday morning 460 km East of Borongan Eastern Samar
Friday morning 390 km East of Virac, Catanduanes
No Public Storm Warning Signals Raised
Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.

Tropical Depression "KAREN" is still too far to affect any part of the country.

"Karen" is likely to intensify within the next 6 to 12 hours.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 pm today.
