On August 18, 2012, a plane carrying Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Jesse M. Robredo crashed off the coast of Masbate. Since then, the nation has stood together in prayer for the safe rescue of the Secretary, and of his two pilots, Capt. Jessup Bahinting, and Nepalese flight student Kshitiz Chand. In the morning of August 21, 2012, after a grueling search, news swept the country confirming their passing.
