G Tongi makes comeback on FHM cover

Comebacking actress Giselle “G” Tongi returns on the cover of FHM Philippines’ August issue 11 years after she first graced the pages of the popular men’s magazine.
“It’s already been 11 years since actress G Tongi debuted on the cover of this magazine and in our packed August issue, the wiser, more mature, but still scintillating G shows all of us how to keep things smoking,” the magazine said on its website on Monday.

For the cover photo taken by ace lensman Xander Angeles,Tongi goes for a more glamorous retro pin-up girl look, wearing a bejeweled bra top and diaper shorts.

Robbie Piñera did the actress’ makeup, while Sidney Yap took charge of the styling.

“After a stint in New York, getting married, and popping out two adorable kids, the classic beauty still knows how to work the camera, striking such poses to make every shot a bona fide work of art,” FHM said.

“Decked in the most luxurious of lingerie, swimming in pearls, and amidst the decadent furnishings of the Opus, G channels a timelessness that can only come from the best of the best,” it added.

Tongi’s cover received positive comments from FHM readers.

“Wow. Refreshing 'to kasi bagong cover babe. 4 thumbs up FHM. I have to admit that at first kala ku Toni G ung binabasa ku G Tongi pala,” Jason Ace Holganza Basay commented on the magazine’s Facebook page.

Noting that Tongi’s cover follows that of Kaye Abad two months ago, Basay also said, “Relive the ‘Gimik days.’ Exciting 'to may bago na namang cover. Yipee! FHM really is the best and #1 magazine in the Philippines. Hands down, no doubt.”

“Wow, oldies but goodies,” said Jhake Albinto Regudo.

“Hot pa rin! Walang pagbabago. Nice, G!” wrote Chyl Benavides.

Meanwhile, Racs Salcedo said Tongi looks like Hollywood actress Ashley Judd in the photos.

Tongi’s comeback also drew requests for other actresses to make a similar comeback, including Vanessa del Bianco, Anjanette Abayari and Eula Valdez.
