Cumming Too Soon!

Dear Ms. Mocha,

I come too soon in bed. What can I do to prevent premature ejaculation?

- Quickie

Dear Quickie,

Premature ejaculation is a condition in which the man ejaculates earlier more than he or his partner would like him to. It usually happens in less than two minutes after penetration.

According to a study, 74% of men suffer from this condition. You're not alone so don't feel embarrassed.

There's not really just one cause but more of a combination of several factors including - anxiety/stress, guilty feelings, less sexual activity, hypersensitivity, fear of performance problems, etc.

Premature ejaculation can cause problems in the relationship because the man leaves his partner unsatisfied. In severe cases, it can even lead to separation.

Here are some tips on how to prevent premature ejaculation:
1. Foreplay. Instead of going from kissing to penetration, work on foreplay. Stimulate your partner manually or orally to get her to the same level as you are.

2. Sex positions. Missionary position (on top of woman) makes it difficult for a man to control his ejaculation  because muscle tension is increased as he supports his bod weight. Try Cowgirl (woman on top), spoon (side by side) and the doggie.

3. Moan. Moaning during sex can help both men and women relax. Breathe deeply and slowly. Relaxation is very important to prevent premature ejaculation.

4. Start-stop method. Start masturbation and stop right before ejaculation, then continue again. This will allow you to determine where your point of no return is. You will have effective control over your ejaculatory reflex and extend plateau phase (sexual excitement prior to orgasm).

5. Kegel exercise.  This involves working out your PC (pubococcygeus) muscles. It's the same muscle that controls the flow of urine and semen. Touch your anus as you try to contract your PC muscles. If your anus tightens, it means you are doing it right. Clench and hold your PC muscles for 5 seconds. Release then repeat. Feel free to progress if you feel you are strong enough. Tighten your PC muscle for as long as you can. By doing this exercise, you'll be able to have better sex.

6. Use a condom. This doesn't only prevent premature ejaculation but also HIV/AIDS/STDs.
These are just a few tips that may help you prevent premature ejaculation. Just always remember, real gentlemen know that ladies should always come first.

Sexerly Yours,
Mocha
